Auction marks end of Swans deli catering venture

About 75 people attended a Wednesday auction at 15750 S Harlem Ave in Orland Park selling Swans Deli assets including kitchen equipment and a walk in freezer. A Friday sale in Mokena followed as owner Mitch Swan exits catering. Community members and restaurateurs described the closure as tragic and unfortunate.

127th Street intersection rated state’s second most dangerous

State Farm study ranks the 127th Street and Cicero Avenue intersection in Alsip second in the state for danger with 198 accidents last year. Despite high volume, Lt. Richard Dalzell notes fatalities are low, about 350 annual crashes at the site. The Schaumburg Golf and Roselle pair led with 244.
