District 205 approves 35 early retirements to save costs
Thornton Township High School District 205 board approved 35 resignations under the five plus five incentive plan, effective end of the 1994 school year. Bonuses of 4000 dollars were paid now to beat the 1993 fiscal year deadline, with conditions to retire by June 25 or repay the money. Several staff from Thornridge, Thornwood, and Thornton plants were listed among the resignations, and two promotions to assistant principal were announced. The board also considered a student sexual harassment policy, textbook rental fees for 1993-94, and a pension-aligned adjustment to Superintendent Richard Taylor’s contract.
