Chicago Heights police report several individuals charged with felonies for robberies and thefts on January 14 to 18. Accused include Chicago Heights residents Adams, Jackson, Whitfield, and Molan, with bonds ranging up to 300,000. Investigations target additional suspects as officers review incidents on Thorn Hickory Chicago Road Wentworth Avenue and 14th Street.
Frank Scalise, 49, of Chicago, faced felony forgery charges after attempting to buy electronic gear with a stolen credit card at a store on 211th Street. An off duty officer chased him into a lot, where another driver tried to strike the officer before fleeing. Tanika L. Austin, 19, Chicago Heights, was charged with retail theft for allegedly trying to take a coat at Lincoln Mall.
Police reports say a vehicle in the 5000 block of Sauk Trail in Richton Park had its driver's side door scratched while parked in a lot. No suspects listed and no injuries reported.
Glenwood resident Filberto Ruiz 29 of 123 25th St was charged with DUI improper lane usage and no insurance after a patrol observed weaving on Halsted Street near 183rd to 187th around 10 25 a m Police later stopped a vehicle on Main Street at Rebecca around 10 45 p m Monday leading to charges against Clyde Todd Pearce 24 of Chicago for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia Lorraine Pearce 38 of 15200 Chicago Road Dalton faced counts of illegal transportation of an alcoholic beverage possession of drug paraphernalia speeding and driving with one tail light Brian T Mudlow 21 of 22341 Cornell was charged with possession of cannabis driving with an expired license and tinted windows after a traffic stop on Joe Orr Road at Cottage Grove Avenue around 5 45 p m Monday
Hazel Crest woman aids 86 year old victim as Telon Myrick 18 Harvey is charged with felony robbery and obstruction of justice. A car stolen from Calumet City was found in the parking lot with two juveniles detained. Other incidents include DUI charges against Francis Stripens and a disorderly conduct arrest for urinating outside SuperKmart.
Timothy P Buss 33 of 23622 S Ashland Ave Crete was charged Friday with battery after police said he struck and kicked a woman in his house. A 31 year old Crete Township woman reported Saturday spray painting hate symbols on her wooden fence in the 23700 block of South Ashland Avenue. East Hazel Crest 4A color television was stolen from a Motel 6 room between Friday and Sunday, police said. Kenneth F Hickey 41 of 1040 Mulberry Hammond Ind was charged Sunday with disobeying a traffic control device DUI BAC over .08 driving with no insurance and toll violation following a stop at 171st and Halsted. Cornelia Coronel 24 of 15740 Park Harvey was charged Saturday with driving with a windshield, license suspended, no insurance and not wearing a seat belt after a stop at 171st and Halsted. Ronald Bibbs 35 of 3224 Hendricks Robbins was charged with expired registration, license suspended, no seat belt and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Hazel Crest resident Hazel Crest Rickey Menewether age 43 of 16935 Western Ave was charged with two counts of domestic battery for choking one family member and striking another He was also charged with resisting arrest and one count of battering a police officer allegedly striking the officer in the chest with an elbow during a scuffle with four officers James Gary age 17 of 17408 Holmes Ave was charged with domestic battery for allegedly pushing and scratching a family member
Police said a car on Anthony Street in the 17600 block had its stereo and amplifiers stolen after a window was broken Thursday. On Friday a 2m stop sign and a school crossing sign in the 18900 block of Loretto Street were spray painted.
