Multiple thefts and a car recovered after a LaGrange report
A LaGrange resident reported a car stolen from a Harwood Avenue lot between 7 30 and 8 30 p m was recovered 20 minutes later on Governors Highway in Flossmoor. The vehicle had a broken window and peeled steering column and would not start. Various other thefts and charges include a window smashed to gain entry on Halsted Street, a stolen cellular phone and drill on Harwood Avenue, a missing snowmobile from East Rainbow Tree, and several arrests for drugs, weapons, and vehicle-related offenses involving residents of Chicago Heights and nearby towns.

Burglary Reported On Kedzie Avenue Break In
A basement window allowed entry to a home in the 17300 block of Kedzie Avenue Friday between 10 and 10 45 p m. Stereo equipment and jewelry were reported missing by residents not at home. Standon Bowe, 32, of Hazel Crest was cited for DUI BAC above .08 and illegal transportation of alcohol after an officer found him behind the wheel at 183rd Street and Kedzie Avenue.

Hazel Crest man dies in interstate crash
A Hazel Crest man died and a Markham man stayed in critical condition after a Sunday night crash on southbound Interstate 57 at Neet Peotone road. Jason Humbert, 21, crossed onto the shoulder and struck an unoccupied parked car at 9:48 p.m. He remained at Olympia Fields hospital in critical condition as investigators looked into the cause.

Indicted man charged with DUI and child endangerment
Leon Cristman, 36, of 1422 Kenwood Plymouth Indiana was charged Sunday with driving under the influence and endangerment of children. Police said a burglary occurred Friday at a home garage on the 200 block of Arrowhead with tools and equipment reported stolen.
