Matteson Library Board Seeks Two New Directors

Two seats on the Matteson public library board are open as terms for two directors expire this year. Interested candidates must file intent with 25 registered voters' signatures by February 24 and meet age 18, village residency one year, and registration as a voter. Teen Couple Charged In Infant's Death

Hazel Crest police charged 18 year old Tyler Naleway and his 18 year old wife Colette with neglect and murder after their 27 day old son Ashley Naleway died at St James hospital. The medical examiner reported skull fracture and brain injuries for Ashley. A prior case involved another Naleway infant with severe injuries and was settled with custody transfers.

Illinois Park Grants Benefit Olympia Fields and Will County

Illinois will award 5.54 million dollars in LAWCON grants to 62 communities and recreation agencies for land purchase and park development. Olympia Fields park district gets 7000 for two acres near 207th Street, while Will County forest preserve district receives 590000 for two parcels east of Joliet totaling 175 acres.
