Picnic permits move to Sixth District Courthouse office
Picnic permits for the first time will be issued at the Sixth District Circuit Courthouse in Markham with special hours from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Local offices also offer golf activity cards for discounts. In person applications begin early in the year and require 21 or older applicants. Permits cost 20 dollars without a shelter and 25 with a shelter, covering all day usage for a party size.

SSC Offers In District Tuition Break For Area Workers
South Suburban College District 510 provides a $50 per credit hour in district rate for employees who live outside the district but work inside it. Eligible counties and towns include Blue Island, Calumet City, Harvey, Matteson, Tinley Park and others. Prospective students must present an employer letter on official letterhead and provide transcripts. Registration closes January 14 with spring classes starting January 20.
