Panici case memories echoed by former prosecutor and peers
Chris Gair recalls Panici trial with detail and candor, saying the former assistant U.S. attorney, now with Freeman Freeman & Salzman in Chicago, has a sharp memory of names and dates from the Chicago Heights corruption prosecution. Other ex U.S. attorneys, including Fred Foreman and Tom Sullivan, back the government narrative as Panici denies involvement. Gair defends the use of co conspirator testimony and tape evidence in public corruption cases, while FBI agent Neal O Malley is praised amid Panici’s charge that authorities lied. See STORY, Page A 5.
