Illinois School Watch List Extends Beyond This Year
The annual financial watch list, first issued in 1988, shows 98 districts on this year’s list, including North Palos 117 Burnham 154 Lansing 158 and Country Club Hills 160. Some expect removal next year despite four districts recently approving tax increases, while critics call the list political and flawed. Education leaders urge changes to better reflect true finances.
