Will County Historical Society accepts group reservations for tours of the Illinois and Michigan Canal Museum in Lockport at 803 S State St. Admission is free and groups of 10 or more may book by calling 815 838 5080. The museum marks 28 years of operation and the canal’s 150th anniversary. The building is a national register site and ties to canal officials. Scholarships offered by the Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans include a $1000 women’s division award for high school graduates with a 50 percent Italian parent. deadlines March 6 and April 15 for the John Fischetti Scholarship.
