Unified dispatch center eyed for area villages
Officials discuss closing duplications by creating a single dispatch center to serve Park Forest Richton Lemont Olympia Fields Matteson and neighboring towns. The move would centralize 911 lines radios and personnel with cross trained staff and a new agency oversight board.
Program sets loan fees and eligibility rules
Trustee Cynthia Butler inquired about two proposed fees attached to the loan program: 25 for the village and 150 for the bank. Hansen said the bank would perform the necessary legwork prior to approval of the loan. The 150 bank fee would be refundable if the loan is rejected. However, the village would require a 25 processing fee. Loans provided by the bank under the program will use an interest rate equal to the prime rate listed in the Wall Street Journal at issue minus 3 percent. The program requires the loan to fund a project that will increase local tax revenue or create jobs.
