Braun center students cook their way toward future work
Braun Educational Center runs a full scale foods program where about 13 students, guided by Anita Simon and Monica Griffin, prepare pizza puffs, lasagna, chicken taquitos, and more for 60 plus students and 20 staff. The program blends practical kitchen work with math lessons and offers wage eligibility for higher level students. Griffin aims to expand activities including field trips, recipe portfolios, and outside catering by March while emphasizing life skills and teamwork for students from Southwest Co-op districts.
