Injunction halts credit card scam ring in Illinois
Illinois Attorney General Jim Ryan and the FTC won a preliminary injunction to stop four suburban residents from deceiving consumers in an advance fee credit card scam. Operating under names like Creative Concepts and Premier Services, the group used aliases and concealed facts to promise major cards and collect fees. The case, part of Operation Loan Shark, targets 37 telemarketing firms linked to more than $10,000 in nationwide fraud. The defendants resided in Country Club Hills Dolton and Hazel Crest.
