Richton Park approves licensing rule and police car bid
Richton Park trustees enacted a contractor licensing ordinance requiring $30 annual fees and insurance affidavits with minimum liability coverage. They awarded the two police cars to Yanson Chevrolet despite Olympia Dodge’s lower bid, citing maintenance and miles per gallon advantages. Village Manager Marilynne Davis announced her forthcoming resignation effective May 1, with praise from Trustee Harold Artemus. Additional actions included approving Minder, Inc. contracts for Glassser Park engineering and Sauk Trail water main projects.

Warren backs plan to keep Old Matteson students in South
Rich Township High School District 227 Superintendent James Warren endorsed a redistricting option that keeps Old Matteson area students in the South campus initially, delaying full implementation of option 20 until enrollment at Rich South reaches 1350 to 1400. The plan contrasts with the citizens committee’s prime option and raises concerns about current honors and programs at South.
