Park Forest Village Board heard Sterk's Super Foods owner Dick Sterk and company reps outline plans for a 56,000 square foot store at Orchard Plaza replacing Jewel Osco. Sterk said the Park Forest location will be the largest in the chain and discussed the Employee Stock Option Program which currently makes the firm 52 percent employee owned and offers stock to eligible workers.
Richton Park officials consider scrapping the annual Family Fest due to high costs and red figures. Parks director Kim Riddering estimates concert series costs at 2 775 per show and 8 325 for three events, with potential sites Glaeser Helen Jones and Pierce Parks.
The Richton Park Fire Department wins village approval to purchase a 2000 sport utility vehicle to replace a suburban van. Seven bids ranged from 20000 to 29000, with options including Jeep Cherokee Chevrolet Blazer Ford Explorer and Dodge Durango. The vehicle must have a 6 cylinder engine four wheel drive air conditioning and other specs.
