A new reference book Profiles II Economic and Demographic Factbook of Chicago Southland will debut Monday by Star Newspapers Governors State University Institute for Public Policy and Administration and the Southland Community Development Corp The updated data rich guide uses census figures to profile population age race households employment education and economic trends for the southern and southwestern suburbs It notes a 1990 population base of 844 481 and 297 015 households with many towns growing over 30 percent from 1980 to 1990 The Star will sell copies at 59 95 with discounts and order details provided by the marketing department
