Narcotics sting nets dozens of arrests and towings in Chicago Heights
A Cook County Sheriffs Police Gang Unit sting with Chicago Heights officers led to multiple arrests for attempting to purchase narcotics cannabis and cocaine and to several driving on suspended or revoked licenses. Forty three vehicles were towed and a larceny warrant served as police outlined a broad operation across 1400 blocks of Fifth Avenue and Arnold Street.

Flossmoor and Hazel Crest residents face charges after traffic stops and school incidents. Edward Johnson 55 of Central Park Hazel Crest is charged with DUI improper lane use and illegal transportation of alcohol. Police report multiple incidents in Chicago Heights. A rear driver window broken in the 100 block of East 24th Street between December 3 and 5. A video cassette recorder stolen from a vehicle in Olympic Village Court between December 4 and 6. A compact disc car stereo stolen from a car on West 14th Street. Robbery in Homewood and multiple local thefts reported
Two Homewood residents were robbed at gunpoint in their garages on Jodi Terrace. Robbers wore bandannas and fled with a gold watch bracelet necklace two diamond rings and a fur coat. Police also reported Christmas light thefts eight more sets cut across days and thefts from a car, a phone from Super Kmart and tools from H F Car Wash plus a spray painted car in Super Kmart parking lot.

Police responded to a call in the 1000 block of Crawford Avenue where Matteson II Louie Newman, 96, of 996 . 16th Street Heights, faced unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. In Chicago, Darrell Edwards, 28, was charged with retail theft and aggravated fleeing after allegedly concealing 10 bottles of liquor at a grocery store on 211th Street. Theresa Robertson, 18, of 205 Hillcrest, Chicago Heights, was charged with disorderly conduct after an altercation at Lincoln Mall. An incident at a toy store in the 5000 block of agenaioees involved a diversion by two men.
