Homewood Men Charged With Unlawful Trespass to Vehicle
Two Harvey men and a Harvey teen were charged Friday with unlawful trespass to a vehicle after Homewood police spotted them in a 1994 Nissan reported stolen in South Holland. Stacy Kidd, 21, of Loomis. Michael Minor, 23, of Oakley. and a 16-year-old from Harvey were stopped near 175th and Halsted streets around 10 p.m. Police noted the car had been reported stolen on December 2.

Gunman steals cigarettes at Crete Shell station
Early Monday a black male, about 30 with a facial scar, pointed a blue steel semi-automatic at a customer who tried to stop him and fled with three cartons of cigarettes from 1400 Steger Road. He drove a teal Pontiac Grand Am, pursued by police across area roads with no arrests.

Chicago Heights Man Charged Over Child as Collateral
Wendell Simmons 34 of 1524 Lowe Ave was arrested after allegedly offering his 3-year-old child as collateral in a cocaine buy. NEMEG and Chicago Heights police say he admitted past five weeks of drug purchases. Bond set at 250000. This marked the seventh narcotics arrest by the enforcement group since police joined eight weeks ago.

Park Forest investigates repeated telephone line cuts
Park Forest police questioned a woman about three cuttings of a resident’s telephone line in the past 10 days. The latest disruption occurred between 6 20 and 8 20 p m Monday, shortly after repairs were completed. Earlier cuts happened around Thanksgiving and on December 4. No arrests have been made.

Teen Held After Chainsaw and Air Gun Seized
Cook County Blue Island police detained a 19 year old Posen man after he carried a chainsaw from Bat Friday to the LaStanza Tavern at 13328 S Western Ave and tried to sell it to customers. An officer found the saw with its serial number removed and also seized an air gun whose serial and model numbers were removed from the man's car per police reports.

Two Dyer men charged in Lansing man murder
Michael B. Petrovic and Matthew L. Popplewell, both 19 of Dyer Indiana, were arrested and charged with murder in the shooting death of Scott Clark, 18 of Lansing, on September 18 in Munster. Investigators say the men killed Clark in a car, dumped the gun in the Little Calumet River, and fled.
