Organ donation poster contest spans Illinois schools
Illinois schools host a poster contest to raise organ and tissue donor awareness as 2000 plus residents await transplants. Secretary of State George H. Ryan urges students to spread the donor message. Entry forms go to all schools with four prize levels and a December 11 deadline for winning posters to advance to the state office. Grand prize posters will be shown in driver services sites during National Organ and Tissue Donor Awareness Week in April.

Johnson named president of Illinois Community College Economic Association
Karen Johnson executive director of the Business and Career Institute at South Suburban College was elected president of the Illinois Community College Economic Workforce Development Association at its October Springfield conference. She will lead the statewide group of administrators and staff from Illinois community college training offices. Members on the board since 1991, this is her second year as a board member.
