Village studies grant plans and park land sale move forward
South Cook County CDBG funds will back a village study with a consultant to be chosen from firms familiar with Cook County. Trustees debated interviewing multiple firms, but favored focusing on solid analysis and time while ensuring the grant covers the work. The board aims to acquire 10 more acres for Glaeser Park using $105 000 and considers selling five acres west of Richton Square School to the village for park development. A drainage issue in Lioncrest was discussed with homeowners seeking a retention basin and ditch cleaning, with responsibility debated between the village and private property owners. Executive session followed for land acquisition.
