Project manager Bob York says the plans include changes to previous publications. layout plans show two runways in Phase 1, 60 percent of the terminal, and cargo facilities with completion targets for 2001 2005 to 2010 for subsequent phases. The 1:30 p.m. briefing will be at IDOT offices in Chicago on the 16th floor of 310 S. Michigan Ave.

Matteson OKs 2.9 Million Bond for Sewer Extension

The Matteson village board unanimously approved 2.9 million General Obligation bonds to fund sewer and water extensions at the western border. The project will serve 160 acres near Lincoln Highway and Ridgeland Avenue and later 900 more acres for future development, with costs expected to be repaid by future development.

Six-alarm Richton Park fire destroys Windwood condos

A six alarm blaze at the Windwood condominium complex in Richton Park destroyed 42 housing units and required 900000 gallons of water plus 231 gallons of diesel to power equipment. About 60 to 80 residents were displaced while 100 firefighters and 23 Red Cross volunteers assisted. no occupants were injured, though two firefighters sustained minor injuries. Fire Marshal ruled an electric water heater started the fire at 22518 Jackson Court. suppression took around eight and a half hours with many crews from nearby communities aiding.

Two Teens Die In Chicago Heights House Fire

A fire at an Aunt Martha's home for eight wards of the state on Thorn Street killed two youths. Danyell Johnson, 17, died from smoke inhalation and Jeremy Allen, 17, died from burns after being unable to escape. The blaze began about 3 10 a.m. and spread through the second floor hallway. Both victims were from the Chicago metropolitan area.
