Summer camp helps Kenny heal after a year of illness
Kenny Kennall, 11, of Hazel Crest, spent his first vacation since starting dialysis in February at Camp Copneconic near Flint, Michigan. There he learned to swim, rode horses, shot a bow, and joined friends, while three times weekly undergoing four hour dialysis at a nearby hospital. His family balanced care with school tasks, and Kenny hopes to become a doctor. The camp, funded by Collins Summer Camp Program and run by the American Kidney Fund, gave him a welcome break and renewed energy for the year ahead.
