Christmas in April aids Chicago area homes and schools
South Suburban volunteers joined the national Christmas in April effort to repair elderly or disabled residents’ homes and four Chicago area schools. About 4,000 volunteers renovated 60 homes and four schools in metropolitan Chicago, with a Southland chapter led by Patrick Broderick of Broderick Builders. Local unions and high school students contributed under supervision, with a $2,000 South Suburban Board of Realtors grant supporting insurance and materials.
