In Thursday Police Beat a man arrested for purchasing alcohol as a minor gave the name Wendell D Mosby. Mosby was not arrested and police investigate the person who used the false name to determine charges, while Kwik Mart at 432 W 14th St may not have sold liquor to a minor.
Two gunmen robbed Jewel Foods at 2500 Lincoln Highway Olympia Fields around 11 p.m. police described suspects vaguely then fled on foot west along the store side. Separate reports state Tyy Collins 17 was arrested in Chicago Heights for felony delivery of a controlled substance after an undercover probe.
Crete township matter: David Holloway 23 charged with driving with revoked license after speeding on Richton Road. Mesa resident Charles Smith 24 faces assault charge for allegedly threatening a Matteson doctor. A Lincoln Mall clerk charged with retail theft and credit card misuse. Tasha Dotson 26 and Willie Dotson 30, both of Matteson, charged with retail theft and unauthorized card use. Hazel Crest Burger King reports nearly 500 missing from an unlocked office container. Three men charged with battery for allegedly punching a Hazel Crest boy. Two cars broken into in a Crete mobile home park. items stolen include checkbook and golf clubs. Robert Miller 28 charged with theft for taking a pool cue in Crete. A Hazel Crest man, 21, arrested in Country Club Hills for unlawful cannabis possession after throwing cannabis bags from a car window during a traffic stop. The bags tested positive for cannabis.
Cook County police reported Keith Norwood 32 of Ford Heights was charged with unlawful use of a weapon after a traffic stop near 162nd Street and I 80 294 where a .22 semiautomatic was found. James Taylor 34 of Country Club Hills arrested on Will County warrant. Hicks charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing justice for refusing to provide his name. Olanrewaju 25 of Steger charged with obstructing a peace officer and multiple traffic violations after driving 51 mph in a 35 zone. Car theft reported in driveways on Braeburn and Brassie Avenues in the 2400 2500 blocks.
