Illinois panel backs anti subpoena stalking bill
A state House Criminal Judicial Committee endorsed a bill to require court approval before subpoenas to a stalking victim or family for appeals. The measure, 16-0, follows Linda Walls of Bourbonnais who faced repeated subpoenas from her ex-husband on death row. Sponsors said passage would protect victims while preserving criminal rights.
