Chicago Heights man charged after alleged drug pass and gun found
Chicago Heights resident Wendell J. Parker 362 Concord Ave was arrested in Harvey after attempting to pass a plastic bag in the 157th and Vine area. The bag tested positive for cocaine, a .38 caliber pistol was found inside the nearby home, and Parker fled as officers arrived. Also report of a three car crash on Western Avenue and Lincoln Highway causing injuries, a robbery at 14th and Center, and mob action arrests involving eight youths and a shooting at Hickory and Division.

Teen charged in cannabis possession after police encounter
A 16 year old Country Club Hills girl faces illegal possession of cannabis charges after officers found a marijuana cigarette in a squad car seat during transport following a disturbance on Central Park Avenue. A cellular phone and pager were stolen earlier from a home on Ravisloe Terrace. A back door was forced open to gain entry.

Wilbert Oldenburg a 76 year old Beecher area caretaker was found dead amid smoldering timbers at 1305 E Corning Road in Washington Township near Beecher. An autopsy attributed death to a heart condition with no soot in the airway indicating he died before the flames.
