Park Forest proposes a land swap plan with University Park
Park Forest would swap 20 acres known as the gardens for 200 acres the Groebe property near Urban Hills Golf Course. If approved, Park Forest keeps ownership of the gardens unless sold, while University Park would receive 30 percent of net sale proceeds in exchange for emergency services. Officials defend the deal as favorable and aimed at contiguity and shared services.

Maynegaite building may resume after permits issued
The Olympia Fields Village Board agreed that building permits for Phase 4 of Maynegaite Woods can be issued once developer Wayne Krueger demonstrates to the village engineer that required improvements are complete and arborist recommendations on tree replacement are met. Trustee Willis Ryza noted the moratorium is tied to engineering work and tree replacement. Krueger expects all conditions to be met within days as Village Board member Michael Monteleone oversees meetings in Robert Field's absence.
