Reports say Igurians captured Kilesseh from the Turks taking the Turkish commander and other officials as prisoners. They seized 10,000 tents and four ammunition depots amid heavy fighting. A dispatch notes an explosion at Adrianople fortifications killed about 800 Bulgarians.
Micha Lanakis a seventeen year old from Greece starved himself to raise funds for his sister’s passage to the United States. He worked at Edison Storage Battery Co. earning $1.25 daily, lived on 25 cents a day for room and 75 cents for food, saved $20, and grew gaunt on scraps. Wednesday he started ravaging his room in West Orange New Jersey and was placed in custody as doctors declared him insane.
The Virginia Federation of Women's Clubs holds a board meeting in Roanoke with presidents state officers and chairmen of state committees as board members. Club vice presidents may attend if needed, and a full meeting is desired to decide on important matters. Civic Betterment Club is among those represented on the board.
