Secretary of War Stimson told President Taft the government plans another movement of troops to the Mexican border after a conference. El Paso citizens urged stronger protection fearing rebel forces under Orozco may attack Juarez, prompting a border security push.
War Department announces two infantry regiments ordered to the Mexican border. Troops expected to depart by day's end, with one regiment peculiarly to embark from San Antonio.
Crises loom as anti American sentiment rises in Mexico over Knox's planned visit to Mexico City. A provisional president Trevino is labeled a Gringo Jover and Madero attacker. The war office fails to contact General Oronco due to telegraph disruptions as insurrectos gain ground. Orozo commands strong northern army support and could tilt federal forces to the insurgents.
Reports from Mexico describe Madero unable to check anarchy with deserter Orozco near Juarez and a rebel march. Officials fear renewed cross border fighting could force the United States to cross the line to push belligerents away from the danger zone, as Texas residents demand protection.
The War Department ordered one infantry regiment and one Meld artillery battery to reinforce El Paso as border tensions rise with General Orozco’s forces. Units now at Sam Houston near San Antonio will move by train within hours. A White House meeting with President and War Secretary Stimson followed Texas pleas for more troops at the frontier’s key point.

Mrs Lena Madge an elderly Toledo dealer in nations was found murdered in her store this morning. Patrolman Gergier reported she was seated on the floor with hands and feet tied and bound. A strong robbery motive is suspected as robbers had ransacked the shop and fled. Mrs Madge was eighty four years old.

New York February 26 Attorneys for the American Tobacco Company must appear before Judges Ward Lacombe Coxe and Noyes in federal court Wednesday to report on the plan's deadline and the disintegration process. The trust splits into four independent firms including R. J. Reynolds and Lorillard, with the Porto Rican American and American Cigar companies reorganized, while injunctive provisions curb cross holdings and new combinations for three years. Independent dealers seek review to challenge preserved power of United Cigar Stores Company and its control by former trust interests.
Governor Mann designated Judge George 5. Shackelford to hold the remainder of the term of the City Circuit Court during the illness of Judge R. Carter Scott. Clerk Edward Rowell sought temporary seating to prevent business backlog amid recent deaths and illnesses among judges. Shackelford, long known in Richmond, formerly represented Orange County in the Virginia Senate.
