In Flemington New Jersey smugglers blew the Three Bridges Postoffice safe early morning. They took 6 dollars in cash and between 150 and 150 dollars in postage stamps but left mail matter intact. They also seized a bundle of papers belonging to Postmaster Wood and did not force the money drawer. Frank H. Van Syckle's meat market was broken into with nothing taken. Surrounding towns were alerted but no arrests yet.
W C Hardison of Wadesboro North Carolina identified with several manufacturing concerns shot himself in the head within half an hour of returning home from Blowing Rock where he had been for health reasons. Health decline and heavy losses from the failure of the Independent Cotton Oil Company in Darlington South Carolina are cited as factors. He owned a company led by this firm.

New York special report says A Roy Knabenshue, Toledo aeronaut, challenged Leon Stevens to a $5 side airship race between the Toledo and the California Arrow. Knabenshue vowed to meet the rival whenever he can fly. He tours the city from his ship surveying Chinatown and the East Side before heading to Grant's Tomb.
The B steamer Heralong and the Ja transport Kingle collided at 100 P M in the Inland Sea. The port was sunk and 160 men were ed.
