Nearly Seventy Years a Drugist Bayley Appleton Cambridge
Augustus Ramsay Bayley a longtime Cambridge druggist died Monday after a brief illness at his Austin street home. Born May 28 1818 in Wentworth New Hampshire he built a long career starting at his uncle's Harvard square drug store and later ran stores on Main Street and at Hyde's Block before settling at his final Cambridge shop. He married Sarah Wells in 1847 and is survived by wife Sarah a son Frank A and daughter Helen J. A veteran Mason and member of several clubs he was known for generosity aiding the needy with free medicines. The funeral was held at his Austin street residence with interment in Cambridge cemetery.
