Richmond May 198 The Southern Detective Agency reports progress in solving a robbery murder and arson in Lunenburg county. John E Stokes a young Black man with allies was captured near Sparrows Point Maryland as detectives had earlier arrested Daniel Braziey Nathan Bell Burwell Bell Harry Tilman and two Black women now in Lunenburg county jail. John Woods store owner was killed during a break in and his body was left to be cremated after the looting and arson. The Saturday arrest is believed to close the gang case.
