Condemnation suit over Youghiogheny rail line ends in dismissal
In Friendsville Maryland on May 16 the Manor Land and Oakland Railroad Co and Penn Garrett Coal Mining Co saw the condemnation case against permanent right of way along the Youghiogheny river dismissed. Judge and jury left the matter after plaintiffs opted to abandon. The Penn Garrett Coal Mining Co defended vigorously, led by De Warren E Reynolds with engineers from Baltimore Cumberland and others. The defendants stated they do not block timber development and costs are to be paid.
