Farmer Mortally Wounds Robber After Cellar Break-In
Early morning at about 1 o clock Charles Wolfe, a Canal side farmer, fired at a robber at his cellar window. The wounded man cried out and fell back inside as two more men emerged. Wolfe ordered them away and they fled along the towpath. Wolfe claims he shot the man in the right arm and notes he could not return the stolen meat to the jail.

John H. G. Williams died suddenly from congestion of lungs at his home 2126 Oak Street Baltimore. He worked with the Baltimore Chesapeake and Atlantic Railroad at Light Street and formerly with the Weems Steamboat Co. He was born in Calvert County about three years ago, son of Rev. Henry and Priscilla Chew Williams, educated at Mr. Toppings school, and left a widow and three sons Henry Ferdinand Samuel C. and Thomas J. C. Williams.
