The body of Senator William Pinkney Whyte will be laid to rest this afternoon in Green Mount Cemetery following a simple service at Emmanuel Church. The Protestant Episcopal rites at 3:20 pm will be conducted by Rev. J Houston Seacston with several parish clergy assisting.

Special to the Times from Baltimore Maryland March 20 crowds gathered as the body of William Pinkney Whyte was conveyed from the Whyte home to Emanuel Protestant Church and to Greenmount Cemetery for burial The funeral featured no eulogies and sung three hymns Lead Kindly Light Abide With Me and Weary of the Earth with floral tributes from notable figures and the procession marking profound public sorrow for the Grand Old Man of Maryland.

Severe storm strikes Callend causing house, roof damage
A thunderous electrical storm yesterday between eight and nine o clock severely damaged property in Callend. Lightning struck the tower at D M Dixon's Oak Street residence ripping two roof holes and injuring timbers. A Dixon child was in the room beneath but escaped harm. About thirty lines of telephone service into Oakland were knocked out by the storm.
