Boston, July 23 Eleven people were shot last night by two desperadoes who fled through Jamacia Plain pursued by police and citizens. One victim Mrs Delia Fallon with a baby in her arms is in critical condition after a head wound. Two suspects, identified as Hanes associates, fled toward Calvary Cemetery as a manhunt continued through the night.

July 23 at Cooperstown New York the Rev. David H H Greer now becomes bishop of the Protestant Episcopal Diocese of New York following the death of Bishop Henry C Potter. Greer moves into the office immediately with no consecration required and will return to New York soon after a London stay. Born March 1844 in Wheeling West Virginia he studied at Washington and Jefferson College and the Episcopal Seminary Gambier Ohio with honorary degrees from Brown University and Kenyon College. He began as rector of Christ Church Clarksburg and later Trinity Church Covington before Providence where he served many years.
