Death of Mr Mahaney noted prominent Cumberland merchant
John H J Mahaney, age 59, wholesale wallpaper dealer and longtime Cumberland resident, died yesterday morning at Altamonte Terrace from organic heart trouble. He built a local business, owned two homes, supported religion and Africa missionary work, and is survived by his wife Jennie Metz, daughters Mrs Foster and Miss Bessie Mahaney, sisters Mrs Emerson and Mrs Arnold, and brother George Mahaney of Omaha. Funeral Tuesday at 2 pm from his home, burial Rose Hill Cemetery, Rev L Rudasill officiating.
