Tragic Crossing Death Of Eight Year Old Boy Oscar Lyons Frazier
An eight year old colored boy, Oscar Lyons Frazier, was struck by B and O passenger train No 6 at Green street grade crossing. He died minutes later in Butler's ambulance en route from the Queen City to Western Maryland hospital. The tragedy occurred as a westbound freight cleared the crossing and the boy attempted to cross. Warning signals were given by the engine crew but the impact hurled him into the air. He suffered a fractured jaw, broken neck, and severe scalp wound over the eye. The body was taken to the Butler morgue and his mother Mrs Bessie B Frazier of Paw Paw alley notified. Coroner Martz has summoned a jury for inquest at 3 pm. The crossing is deemed very dangerous.
