Tragedy in South Cumberland: James Smith fatally shoots wife
James E. Smith aged 54 a B and O machinist killed his wife at their Grand avenue home then shot himself. The crime occurred as Mrs. Smith attempted to flee, with their seven month old child nearby. Smith had planned the act, fired multiple shots, and died later with doctors attending the wounded.
