Training for Deaf Children in Marshfield Schools
A new department for deaf pupils opened in Marshfield city schools in a western Jefferson building room under Miss Anna M. Condon recently from Grand Rapids Michigan. Five students, aged four to fourteen, study communication and politeness while living at school for meals. The class uses a rattan couch, fruit, toys, and supervised home returns. Pupils named Molly Loss Herman Walch Laura Stauss Edith Etulich Margaret Bartel. Fire drill success saw all children exit Jefferson school within 25 seconds.

Death of Mrs Couture Pioneer Woman of Lincoln
Mrs Mary Sbbe Couture wife of Joseph Couture of Lincoln died at the family home last Sunday at age 58. Funeral was held 1 30 Tuesday from the home with Rev Jos Brown presiding and interment in Nasonville cemetery. Born in Denmark May 9 1854 she came to America at age ten and lived in Jefferson county then Wood county. Survived by Adelaide Edward Lillian and Alvin. She was a devoted wife and mother and beloved neighbor. The bereaved family have the sympathy of many friends.
