News Review of the Past Week Slavs Resisting Stoutly
Edward W. Pickard surveys a week of World War I activity. Kaiser’s rapid moves toward Constantinople, British and French naval pressure on Russia, and German offensives on the Western Front frame a cautious, contested global picture. Economic mobilization moves and Allied warnings accompany rising tensions as governments prepare for sustained conflict. A public bond drive closes the piece.
