Death of a Pioneer Hatteberg of Marshfield
Ole Ol son Hatteberg, longtime Marshfield resident and skilled mechanic, died at 7 p m Saturday after mentel bronchitis and related complications. Funeral Tuesday at 1 30 p m from the Presbyterian church with Marshfield Masonic Lodge, Worshipful Master I P Tiffaule, and Rev M R Laird officiating. Born in Kirnherd Norway in July 1851 he came to America 33 years ago, lived in Whitewater, then Marshfield 28 years. He worked 16 years for Upham Manufacturing Co before retiring for health reasons. He was single, resided with Mrs Knute Hatteberg, and leaves a sister and two brothers in Norway and a sister Bertha Undale of Chicago. He was a highly esteemed man.

Runaway horse kills owner’s horse outside Deckert's
A fine horse owned by F. S. Jeble was killed last Thursday on the north side after breaking a post while tied to a market post in front of Deckert's meat market. The horse ran head on into the saloon building, formerly the John Juno stand, smashing its head and breaking its neck.

The Second Infantry leads in Special Courses home range shooting for the Wisconsin National Guard, 6.85 ahead of the Third and 12.33 ahead of the First. Alexander McKercher, 76, pioneer resident of Nasonville, died at his home after a sudden paralysis at 2 a m Tuesday. He had lived in Nasonville for forty years, was born in Glengarry, Canada, and is survived by his wife, two sisters Mesdames Muir and Van Valkenburg, with no children. Funeral arrangements awaited outside relatives, possibly Friday. He was a well known early pioneer with many friends in the community.
