Bishop Schwebach of LaCrosse administered confirmation to eighty five youths at St John’s in a solemn high mass. He urged lifelong fidelity to church teachings as they enter the world, praising Rev Eisen for building a new parish school and Sister Utha for tireless work with seven sisters and about five hundred students. A German and English sermon followed with addresses by ex Governor Upham and Rev Bison and a recital by a young student.
A Sunday car road of 175 passed this place over the Wisconsin Con wy t. Two men claimed they gathered them in Chicago and were taking the dogs to Seattle for shipment to Alaska.
Miss Mar Drown announces dressmaking parlors in the Bever block up stairs over Connor Co. offices and invites ladies of the city and nearby areas to call and see her.
Mrs Charlotte A Clendenning Loucks born 1837 in Pennsylvania died at Marshfield after years confined to her home. She married Wewith Loucks in 1861 and had six children Alvert Walter Helen Minnie Helen Amanda. Funeral Sunday conducted by Rev. Yours, large turnout. Community expresses condolences.
The fire department received a new hook and ladder wagon this week, built by Wm. Bonnell & Son of Esp Claire. Chief Upham and Alds Hoffman Ames and Kraus supervised plans and assembly. The 45 foot extension ladder accompanies the cart, reflecting credit on the manufacturer and buyers.
