Rain Deprives Marshfeld Lake Skating Plans
Fall rains failed to fill the new artificial lake at the waterworks plant. Only about one acre of surface is flooded with little chance of more rainfall this season, disappointing youths with skating plans and reducing city ice value by five to six hundred dollars. If filled, ice would fetch a high price once banks are formed. Spring melt and well water could flood the basin, establishing Marshfield’s lake as a future popular pleasure ground.
