Tramps Arrested in Grand Rapids for Theft at Ashford Home

Two vagrants were arrested in Grand Rapids on Wednesday morning after officers found several items stolen from Geo. Ashford’s residence. They were brought before Justice Woodworth for examination. In a separate incident, two freight trains collided near Hersey, forty miles west of Eau Claire, causing extensive damage and a fire that destroyed fifteen cars. One car contained valuable horses, all perished except one, and except for the engine, cars, stock, no other injuries were reported.

County Officers Salaries Fixed by Board in 1882 Act
