Deaths and Obituaries From Marshfield Area

Child nearly dies after drinking carbolic acid

A three year old child of Mr and Mrs Anton Viet of this city nearly died after drinking carbolic acid found on a shelf. Dr Lathrop treated the child and saved it from danger. This is the third such case where children drank poisonous drugs, prompting admonitions to mothers to exercise caution.

First Communion Services At St John’s Church

Crowds will gather at St John’s Catholic church next Sunday for first communion ceremonies. About ninety children will receive the holy rite in pure white garments and long veils. The event marks the crowning achievement of religious school work with a large class and a special feature.
