City authorities of Maralefield request local business men to close in the afternoon of May List to promote proper observance of Decoration Day. Signed A. Wintrams, Bayar.
Citizens prepare a Memorial Day parade and services in the city. The procession forms at 2:00 pm at 6th Street and Central Avenue with groups including Badger State Band Company A and local fraternal and labor organizations. Services at Cemetary include Grand Army Ritual, selections by a quartet, remarks by ex Gov Upham, and a memorial address by Hon J M Reese. The parade returns to end with Star Spangled Banner and flag raising by Company A detail.
The St. John’s congregation selects Wright & Frieders of Marshfield for the new parochial school building at a bid of 10,940 dollars, with total cost around 12,023 including heating and site work. Construction starts soon and aims for completion by October.
A Wednesday night fire gutted the dare owned by Alderman Luecke in the Guh ward. The tire company arrived promptly and saved the house occupied by Mr and Mrs Frank Noll, but the baro burned to ashes. Only a few pieces of bousched goods belonging to Mr Not remained.

Lathrop’s turkey nesting effort yielded seventeen live chicks, exciting the household. The Lathrops and neighbors report strong interest in a prolific turkey year with more than fourteen homes already reporting brood sizes, signaling a promising breeding season.
Six young Indians, wrapped in heavy blankets, walked from a town location to the Indian farm near Rozellville on a nine day, 40 mile journey. They arrived exhausted but spoke good English, with all but one wearing moccasins. They visit Ghier John, an uncle of one traveler, for a summer visit.
