Smuckler Bankruptcy Hearing In Madison Court

The Smuckler bankruptcy case before Judge Bunn in Madison heard testimony last Saturday on alleged secret disposal of stock. Creditors claim Smuckler shipped and sold much of his nearly $13,000 stock to defraud them, while he denies the charges. He was released from custody but held to answer to creditors as proceedings continue amid unsettled questions under the new bankruptcy law. Smuckler moved from St Paul to Pine City, and legal action may proceed in Provo as issues are refined. Attorney John F. Cole represents the referee.
