Readings in a Confining Room and Shared Faith
An injured child Polly and pastor Douglas exchange stories within a cluttered infirmary. Polly probes his past and his role as a preacher while Mandy and Mandy’s gang reveal hard livin’ truths, kindness, and humor amid confinement. Douglas reads Ruth and Naomi aloud, bridging worlds of circus life and church solace as a bell tolls to signal departure.
