Murdered girl buried at Granton
Lillie Kelpin a 16 year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Fred Kelpin of Mayville was shot and killed by Emil Arndt a 46 year old man who after killing the girl bathed the wound changed her position and placed the revolver back of his own mouth and shot himself. Arndt left a note stating he killed her for unrequited love. The bodies were found in a downstairs bedroom and taken to Windfall cemetery for burial. The family is deeply mourned by a mother father three brothers and two sisters.
