Educators and officers from Grand Rapids Wausau Stevens Point and Marshfield attended a Wisconsin industrial commercial and continuation and evening school conference held in this city Saturday at the commercial school in the Arnulis building. Delegates from Merrill Rhinelander Antigo did not attend. The program covered English in continuation school placement vacancy efficiency in the commercial department and a discussion led by area teachers. A dinner with visiting speakers followed and plans were made to hold the next meeting at Stevens Point in September.

Unity Boy Dies Here at Sixteen in City Hospital
Reuben Molle son of Mr and Mrs Charles Molle of Unity died Sunday in a city hospital from brain trouble. He was sixteen and attended school before his illness. Interment will be at Unity today. Also noted a German band invasion of the city Monday signaling spring.

Plans for Booth Campbell Lumber Co Building on Central Avenue
Plans outline a large new Booth Campbell Lumber Co building across from the Soo Line depot on Central Avenue. The 200 by 42 to 50 foot brick warehouse will feature bright lighting, free lumber circulation, and corner offices toward Central Avenue and North Depot Street. The project includes space for storage and future expansion for C E Blodgett & Sons with the railroad’s agreement obtained.

Marshfield Court Decides Several Cases in Calendar
Several Marshfield circuit court cases were disposed of last week. Judgments were entered in the William Jing case and in Susanna Krieg v Kreank Krier, an action for divorce with alimony and child custody settled by stipulation. The case Tradgety v Mallon was ordered non suited. A suit against a dripping carrier was filed in an individual capacity. The Miller Fruit Company v Chicago Northwestern Railway was settled by stipulation with damages paid for freezing a shipment of oranges.

Dr Wahle Leaves Marshfield for Unknown West
Dr Henry Wahle who practiced medicine and surgery in Marshfield for about twenty years sold his old furniture and equipment to Dr W A Mason last week and departed for an unknown destination, presumably in the west. He stated in a letter to friends that he was leaving Marshfield for good. He boarded a Burlington train at St Paul on Saturday. He disposed of property and provided for settling financial obligations. Wahle was a prominent figure in professional and political circles in the county and his departure is widely regretted.

Lieut Willis J Tack and Private William Spear Becker, Marshfield youths, are with US troops near the Mexican border awaiting orders. Tack, a West Point graduate now in the Twenty eighth Infantry, is listed by father T A Tack as ready for action against Villa if summoned. Spear Becker, son of Mr and Mrs William Spear Becker, is also reported to be with the same contingent, their exact location undetermined but camped near the border awaiting orders.

Death of John Zurn in Oshkosh hospital
John Zurn died at Oshkosh state hospital last Tuesday morning after being deemed insane and admitted for treatment. The 28 year old, a well known local resident, was brought home for a Catholic church funeral Saturday at nine. He leaves a wife and two children and was a member of the Eagle lodge.

Runaway Colts Endanger Pedestrians Kill Valued Horse
A team of Gust Windrow colts driven by Er nest Windrow broke loose on Central Avenue between 4 and 5 PM. The leading horse fell and was dragged by its mate until killed by a strike near Fifth Street. A veterinary was called, the horse valued at about 206 dollars. Young Wardrow witnessed the incident.

Death of 14 year old Viola Kirschner
Viola Kirschner, daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles Kirschner of Arpin, died at the hospital Tuesday evening at age 14 years 5 months. She was en route to school earlier that day and died in this city. Burial plans were made for Arpin on Tuesday.

Wheelan Wins Suit Over Carl Fees in Marshfield Case
In Grand Rapids circuit court during the March term W. E. Wheelan obtained a judgment for 40540 against United States Fidelity & Guaranty Co. of Baltimore. Wheelan sought about 800 in attorney fees tied to the Carl case settlement with the city of Marshfield. The bonding companys claim for 2500 paid to Wheelan for Carl’s criminal defense was disallowed by the jury.

Death of Mrs Nobles Shocks County Clerk’s Family
The death of Mrs. Nobles, 22, wife of County Clerk T Nobles, occurred Sunday afternoon at Riverview Hospital Grand Rapids after a brief illness. Her infant child, born Saturday, had died recently. She was Miss Myrtle Ule, daughter of Louis J and Mrs Ule of Grand Rapids, originally from Stevens Point. The funeral was planned for this morning.

New Fire Team Arrives for Marshfield Department
Matt and Jeff, a pair of Percheron geldings from Portage, arrived for Marshfield. Alderman Fred Thuss and Dr. F Warsinki purchased them from a Poynette breeder for $490. They weigh about 2800 pounds and will replace the old hay team. They earned blue ribbon at last summer's Columbia county fair and are said to be well broke.
